How to Choose the Right Photographer (And Why MacKenzie Carullo Might Be Your Perfect Fit)
Senior year at Cherry Creek High School is full of big milestonesโand capturing it all with amazing senior portraits should be at the top of your to-do list. But with so many photographers out there, how do you know who to trust with such an important moment?
Hereโs what really matters when choosing your senior photographerโand how MacKenzie Carullo Photography goes above and beyond to deliver not only stunning photos, but an experience youโll actually love.
Outdoor Sessions That Inspire Confidence & Personality
At Cherry Creek, youโre surrounded by students who are ambitious, driven, and full of individuality. Your senior portraits should reflect that energy. MacKenzieโs outdoor sessions are designed to be personal and relaxed, so your real personality shines throughโwhether youโre goofy, glam, low-key, or a little bit of everything.
No awkward poses. No pressure. Just real smiles and genuine confidence.
Every Photo = Hand-Edited + Archive Quality
Letโs talk quality. MacKenzie doesnโt just snap the photo and apply a filter. Every image is:
- Carefully hand-edited for natural skin tones, flattering light, and clean contrast.
- Retouched to remove distractions, like cluttered backgrounds or unexpected photo bombers.
- Edited with true-to-color lightingโso your portraits look vibrant and timeless, not overly trendy or fake.
Plus, she only offers archival-quality prints and productsโthe kind youโll be proud to hang on your wall or pass down for generations.
Questions You Should Be Asking Before Hiring a Photographer
Choosing a senior photographer is a big deal. Here are a few important things MacKenzie always encourages families to ask before booking:
โ Can I see a full session?
You donโt want to judge a photographer based on just a few favorites on Instagram. MacKenzie is proud to show full galleries so you can see the real results from beginning to end.
โ Will you help with posing?
YES! MacKenzie specializes in working with high schoolers who arenโt used to being in front of the camera. She guides you through every stepโfrom natural poses to those candid, in-between shots that are often the favorites.
โ What happens if the weather turns wild?
Ah, Coloradoโฆ ๐ With our unpredictable skies, you need a photographer who knows how to roll with it. MacKenzie builds in buffer dates for weather, helps you prep for changing conditions, and has a backup plan if Mother Nature throws a curveball.
โ Whatโs included with the session fee?
Great question! MacKenzie doesnโt just take your photo and disappear. Your session fee includes:
- Planning help, including outfit guidance and location advice
- A fun, relaxed outdoor session
- A full reveal + ordering appointment where you get to see your images and pick what you love
- Access to heirloom-quality albums, prints, and digitalsโwith clear, upfront pricing (no surprise sales tactics)
